Coach Stats is operated by Ciaran Dagen, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

This app is used primarily in the United Kingdom and Ireland. UK GDPR applies. Where users are based in Ireland, EU GDPR also applies and the same protections are provided.
Account data: Your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase — passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text).
Match data: Match records you create including team names, scores, events, player names, notes and statistics. This data belongs to you.
Squad data: Player names, positions, attendance records, training notes, skill ratings, availability, and whether a player is injured (with dates only — no details of the injury) that you enter.
Trial grading: Grades and notes that other coaches submit through a head coach's grading link, with the name they give.
Payment data: Subscriptions bought on the website are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions bought in the iPhone and iPad app are processed by Apple through the App Store; Apple sends us the subscription's product, status and renewal date, linked to your account, but never your card or Apple Account details. Subscriptions bought in the Android app are processed by Google through Google Play; Google sends us the subscription's product, status and renewal date, linked to your account, but never your card or Google Account details. We do not store your card details — Stripe, Apple and Google handle all payment data under their own privacy policies.
Sample report requests: If you ask for the sample match report on our website, we keep the email address you give (in Netlify Forms) to send you that one email. We do not add it to a mailing list. Ask us at hello@coachstats.app and we will delete it.
Usage data: We do not use analytics tools or track your behaviour within the app beyond what is necessary to provide the service.
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.
Your data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS in Ireland, EU). Supabase is SOC 2 Type 2 certified. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
Payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. A live score link stops working 12 hours after its last update and is deleted 30 days after the match. To protect shared links from abuse, we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of the device's internet address for up to a day — never the address itself.
If you delete your account in the app, your data and login are deleted straight away and a subscription bought on the website is cancelled. A subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play must be cancelled with Apple or Google, because only they can stop that billing. Copies in our providers' backups are cleared within 30 days. Stripe keeps payment records it is legally required to keep.
We share data only with the following third parties, strictly to provide the service:
Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where data leaves the UK or EU, they use the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
We do not share your data with any other third parties.
Who is responsible: player information you enter (names, attendance, ratings, availability, injured status, notes) belongs to you as the coach, or to your club. You decide what is recorded and why. Coach Stats stores and processes it on your behalf.
Injuries: a player can be marked injured, from a date, with an expected return date. No details of the injury, its treatment or any other health information are kept. Coach Stats does not collect anything from players themselves.
Your responsibilities as coach: tell players (and parents of under-18s) what you record and why; because whether a player is injured is health information, have a lawful condition for recording it — usually the player's, or a parent's, explicit consent collected when they join your club; follow your club's and the GAA's child safeguarding and data protection guidance; only record what you need; and delete a player's data if they or their parent ask.

Coach Stats is a Progressive Web App. We use browser localStorage to store your match data and preferences on your device. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party cookies.
Coach Stats accounts are for coaches and managers aged 18 and over.
Many players whose details coaches record are under 18. That information is held for the coach (see section 7), who must have a lawful reason to record it and must follow their club's safeguarding policy.
A parent or guardian can ask the player's coach, or us at hello@coachstats.app, to see or delete their child's information.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you by email if we make significant changes. The latest version is always available at coachstats.app/privacy.
